SGF 2025: Blade & Soul Heroes is a ‘collectible action MMORPG’ arriving in September

Among the trailers coming out of NCsoft during this year’s Summer Game Fest opening presentation was what appears to be a new gacha title, though the studio is calling it a “collectible action MMORPG.” However you want to categorize it, say hello to Blade & Soul Heroes.

Blade & Soul Heroes is a collectible action MMORPG, which takes place 3 years before the events of the original Blade & Soul series. It’s a story-driven game offering dual combat types – real-time and turn-based – plus a creative mix-and-max team dynamic. The collectible component encourages players to seek out different heroes and build teams optimally suited to counter each boss’s distinct attack patterns.”

The trailer offered during the event was light on gameplay but heavy on panache, though the small previews offered during SGF and on the game’s website provides moments when commands are given during turn-based mode, free movement is granted to dodge large boss attacks, and lots and lots of splashy special attacks are engaged. The MMO portion of the game is still a bit of a mystery, but presumably more information on that front will unfurl later.

BnS Heroes is slated to release sometime this September free-to-play, arriving first on NCsoft’s Purple platform and on Steam, followed by launch on iOS and Android sometime soon after.
