Apparently some sorta newfangled tek-naw-lo-gee requiring some highfalutin’ hardware isn’t going to happen for Mortal Online 2’s upcoming Reckoning update. That’s basically the explanation given by Star Vault in its latest dev blog, which confirms the addition of “new AI technology” originally planned for the patch has to be pushed back for an indeterminate length of time.
“This fourth significant feature of the Reckoning Expansion was heavily reliant and depending on receiving some specific hardware from NVIDIA, which has regrettably been substantially delayed. […] As such we will unfortunately not be able to include the planned new complex AI features in the Reckoning Expansion, at least not without pushing back its release date indefinitely.”
That’s not to suggest that there won’t be some manner of AI updates in the Reckoning patch, but this specific feature will have to be kicked down the road until Nvidia delivers the goods. As for just what this new tech is, the studio promises to talk more about that when supply hurdles are cleared.
Speaking of talking about features, Star Vault has pinned down a date of Wednesday, June 18th, for its next info stream about the update. This livestream will focus on the addition of combat abilities and the new adrenaline system. Just don’t expect any fancypants new AI tech.
