NetEase’s mobile FPS Destiny Rising opens pre-reg on Apple App Store, plans closed beta on Android May 29

Last year we first started reporting on Destiny Rising, a rumored – then confirmed – mobile version of the Destiny shooter that lets players control a variety of hero characters from the wider canon as well as new faces. The game held a closed alpha last November and terrified fans with the prospect of a timegating stamina mechanic that NetEase tried to tamp down.

Well, we’re in 2025 now, and that means pre-registration efforts are continuing and expanding, as Apple users can now do so exclusively via the App Store, while Android users can simply do so on the game’s website. So far the game has raked in just under 950K such sign-ups at the time of this writing.

And speaking of Android users, NetEase has confirmed that there will be a “limited closed beta test” exclusively for Google Play users in the U.S. and Canada starting Thursday, May 29th. This new build promises more narrative, new characters, and new missions and strikes to take on, as well as casual activities like fishing and secret hunting in the Haven social hub. A length of time for this beta wasn’t provided, but a trailer showing off a bit of gameplay has been; that’s waiting below.
