Nexon’s continuing development of the Mabinogi/Vindictus IP is marching onward to its next installment: Vindictus Defying Fate officially announced its alpha plans this morning. Nexon is opening up a Steam alpha from June 8th to 16th that builds in the last alpha back in March.
“[T]he new alpha build introduces key features such as companion NPCs, upgraded combat systems, a new village and inventory system, and more,” the company says. “Step into the charming and lively village key hub, populated by charming and unique NPC’s, including the first appearance of the captivating character Tieve. Next, dive into refined and dynamic combat with newly revealed characters – Lann, Fiona, Delia, and Karok – each showcasing smoother and even deadlier skills. The new Companion NPC System allows players to team up with other playable characters to challenge colossal bosses. This includes fearsome new foes like the White Tyrant and Blood Lord – towering monsters designed to push even the mightiest warriors to their limits.”
Worth noting is that unlike its predecessors, VDF isn’t a proper MMO, but it does tout its co-op multiplayer gameplay as well as action-based combat. Signups aren’t open just yet, but you can wishlist the game on Steam already. The newest trailers are tucked down below.
