As promised, Palia’s Elderwood expansion has finally arrived to the cozy mini-MMO as of this afternoon – and the beta game has finally arrived to PS5 and Xbox X|S players too. And the word “expansion” is Singularity 6’s, not just ours, though based on what we saw during the press preview earlier this spring, we’d say the word is fair.
“As Palia’s largest expansion yet, Elderwood introduces a brand-new Adventure Zone with a new map, loads of fresh content, new gameplay systems, an exciting new chapter in the main story, an array of new quests and more,” the Daybreak-owned studio writes. “Alongside the free release of the Elderwood Expansion, Singularity 6 is thrilled to welcome PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players to the Palia community.”
S6 released detailed patch notes yesterday, and we’ve already gone over them, pointing out the new villager, the starter experience revamp, and the monetization change-up. Specifically, the studio is adding a new paid starter kit and founder pack, in addition to buyable courier pets, which effectively allow players to send loot back to their homes without having to travel themselves.
The servers should be up at 1 p.m. EDT today, just as this post goes live, after more than 24 hours of downtime. Happy patch day, Palians – the launch trailer is down below.
