Ultima Online’s spring roadmap includes a new live event in June’s publish 120

If you’re a longtime Ultima Online player, you know just how unusual it is to get a roadmap, but so far this year, we’ve had two – and the spring roadmap has look at the next update.

“Publish 120 is currently slated for Word Wide Release this June – we hope to bring the first batch of Publish 120 to Test Center 1 later into May as it makes its way through development and QA,” the UO team says. It’s expected to include the new Rifted Crown event (yes, UO still has lots of live GM-run events), bolstered by some sort of city siege and what sounds like a new horse mount (Clydesdales!). The update will also feature prepwork for the 28th anniversary gifts. My bones just turned to dust typing that.

The team also says that the “planned Classic Client upgrade is progressing on track” with a “testable version later this summer,” in addition to an overhaul of the official site and forums “over the next few months.”

Once publish 120 is done and dusted, the studio will roll out publish 3 for the New Legacy servers (publish 2 came out in March alongside the Japanese NL server), then 121 in what is presumably fall.
