“It’s no surprise that nerfs are rarely welcomed, and we’ve historically been cautious about making direct changes. However, this can lead to challenges when intervention is needed.” Thus explains Jagex as it outlines a series of adjustments to boss loot that are planned to arrive to RuneScape starting on May 12th.
The post makes a point to confirm that these changes are being made to common loot from bosses and not unique or rare loot, which will actually be getting a slight increase. That said, several bosses are going to see a wide assortment of lowered common drop chances, particularly with Elder God bosses, which Jagex contends has “raised the bar for bossing revenue” due to the high value and frequent rate of common drops.
Many of the adjustments outlined in the post thus far are scheduled to start in mid-May but Jagex also keeps the door open for further changes to “[assess] the economic impact of various systems and [make] adjustments to support long-term sustainability and overall game health” and also confirms double XP and augmented Thieving and Runecrafting for May as well. For now, the post provides the nitty-gritty details for those who were farming those bosses for their salable goods.
